Thanks to the support of Riga City Council, Творчі зустрічі, the creative living room of Tavi Draugi, was opened at Riga Support Centre for Ukrainian Residents at Amatu iela 4, Riga in June 2023. From January 2024, the living room will be located at the association’s residence at Ventspils iela 50.
Within the framework of the concept of the living room, Ukrainians residing in Riga and elsewhere in Latvia are kindly welcome to meet there, acquire new skills and express their talents, learn themselves and teach not only their compatriots, but also anyone interested. At this stage English language classes and different creative workshops, e.g. drawing and making of jewellery, as well as cosmetology lectures and activities of the project “KNOW MORE, ACCOMPLISH MORE”, financed by the European Union within the framework of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, are held in the living room.
In the near future, there are plans to organise yoga, singing and dancing classes, movie nights and other activities to enhance the sense of togetherness of Ukrainians and Latvians.
To ensure the operation of the creative living room and expand the range of classes and workshops, support both in kind and funding as well as by volunteers is highly welcome.
