Association “Tavi draugi” continues the “Strength is in the Family” project, providing support to families in Madona Municipality

The charity association “Tavi draugi” continues implementing the European Social Fund Plus-funded “Strength is in the Family” project, aimed at strengthening the emotional well-being, cooperation and sense of belonging of children and parents in Madona Municipality. As part of the project’s second round, educational, creative and sports activities for young people aged seven to 15 and their families will take place in Prauliena Parish from 6 to 10 July under the “Strength is in the Family II” initiative.

As part of the “Strength is in the Family II” project, a five-day programme of activities will take place next week in Prauliena Parish, Madona Municipality. Under the guidance of professional instructors, children and young people will develop cooperation skills, stimulate their imagination and creativity, and strengthen their ability to work in a team, perform in front of others and present their ideas. Children and young people will learn new techniques and skills, as well as how to perform, present an idea and showcase the results of their work. By involving family members in the activities, family bonds will be strengthened, shared memories created, and a positive example set of spending quality time together.

The programme includes sports and active lifestyle activities, theatre, improvisation and public speaking practice, animation film-making, literary masterclasses focused on creativity and writing, as well as psychological support for families. Group and individual sessions will help strengthen inner resources, emotional capacity and family cohesion.
“The main objective of the ‘Strength is in the Family II’ project is to create a child- and family-friendly, safe and supportive environment in Madona Municipality, where families can not only spend quality time together, but also receive professional support and develop skills that help them overcome everyday challenges. We see that families increasingly need opportunities not only to relax together, but also to receive professional support and strengthen their relationships. During the first stage of the project, which we implemented last summer, we received very positive feedback from participants. Therefore, we are happy to continue this work and to offer increasingly broader opportunities for children, young people and families,” says Monta Vecozola, project manager at “Tavi draugi”.

Participation in the activities is free of charge for both children and their accompanying family members (parents, grandparents or other relatives), but the number of places is limited. At present, all places for next week’s activities have been filled and registration has closed.
