Living room

Thanks to the support of the Riga City Council, in June 2023, the “Tavi draugi” Creative Living Room “Творчі зустрічі” was opened at 4 Amatu Street, at the Riga Support Center for Residents of Ukraine. Since January 2024, the Living Room has been located at the association’s home base at 23 Lapenu Street.

Within the concept of the Living Room, Ukrainians living in Riga and elsewhere in Latvia are invited to meet, learn new skills, and express their talents — both by learning themselves and by teaching not only fellow Ukrainians but anyone interested.

Thanks to funding from various support foundations, the Living Room regularly hosts educational and creative activities such as:

Latvian language conversation club
board game evenings
creative workshops
improvisation clubs
lectures and seminars on entrepreneurship, labor rights, advertising, and other topics

Projects implemented through the Living Room so far include:

“Know More, Do More” — funded by the European Union Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund
“You Will Succeed!” — funded by the European Union Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund
“Your Story Is My Story” — a project under the Latvian State Budget Program for Minority and Social Cohesion, funded by the Society Integration Foundation

In the near future, film evenings and other activities are planned to strengthen the sense of unity between Ukrainians and Latvians.
