Thanks to the support of the Riga City Council, in June 2023, at Amatu Street 4, at the Riga Support Center for Ukrainian Residents, the “Tavi Draugi” creative lounge “Творчі зустрічі” was opened. From January 2024, the lounge will be located at the association’s home at Ventspils Street 50.
Within the concept of the lounge, Ukrainians living in Riga and other parts of Latvia are invited to meet, learn new skills, and express their talents, to learn themselves and to teach not only their compatriots but also anyone interested. Currently, the lounge hosts various creative workshops, such as drawing, decoupage, making motankas and jewelry, cosmetology lectures, movie nights, board game nights, English language lessons, events of the European Union’s Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund project “YOU WILL SUCCEED!”, and other activities aimed at promoting the feeling of unity between Ukrainians and Latvians.
To ensure the operation of the creative lounge and to expand the range of classes and workshops, both material support and volunteers are being recruited.
