Anton Ptushkin to Present Documentary Film “Antarctica” in Riga on 16 December

On Tuesday, 16 December at 19:00, a special screening of Ukrainian director Anton Ptushkin’s documentary film “Antarctica” will take place in the PEPSI Hall of the “Forum Cinemas” movie theatre in Riga. The event is part of the film’s global charity tour, and all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to support Ukraine’s air defense.
Anton Ptushkin is embarking on a special charity tour with his new travel documentary “Antarctica”, which tells the story of Ukrainian polar scientists working at the remote Vernadsky Research Base. This documentary journey invites viewers to join Anton aboard the icebreaker Noosphere, cross the notorious Drake Passage, and experience the grandeur of glaciers and the charm of penguins on the big screen. The audience will learn why researchers spend an entire year in isolation, what scientific tasks they carry out, and why they need a crossbow.
Throughout the evening, guests will have the chance to hear exclusive behind-the-scenes stories, take part in a Q&A session with Anton, participate in a charity auction, and purchase truly unique artifacts from Antarctica, as well as signed posters, photographs, Anton Ptushkin’s book, and other items.
The film will be shown in Ukrainian with Latvian subtitles. The event is planned to last three hours. Tickets for the “Antarctica” screening are already available here. The screening of Anton Ptushkin’s “Antarctica” is organized in cooperation with the charity organization Tavi draugi.
