“Tavi draugi” invites to an Open Doors Day about volunteering this Saturday

The charity association “Tavi draugi” is launching a cycle of Open Doors Days in September to inform about volunteering opportunities and to invite the public to get involved in charity activities. The first Volunteer Open Doors Day will take place this Saturday, September 27, from 11:00 to 14:00, at the association’s premises and support center in Riga, 23 Lapeņu Street.

Open Doors Days at “Tavi draugi” are implemented within the project “Close in Heart and Everyday Life”. Until the end of the year, such events will be held once a month, inviting people of all ages to learn more about the work of the charity organization and to discover the many ways to contribute to providing support to people in Latvia and Ukraine.

Visitors to “Tavi draugi” Volunteer Open Doors Days will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the organization’s work and active volunteers, explore the warehouse, follow the donation logistics chain, learn more about creative and cultural projects, participate in camouflage net weaving workshops, donation sorting, and other activities.

“The volunteer network is the backbone of our charity organization. Only with their help can we continue to provide support every day to people in need in Latvia, to Ukrainian civilians, and to the army. People of all ages and professions can get involved and contribute – the most important thing is the willingness to help. There is a lot to do and the tasks are diverse, so everyone has the chance to do good by donating their time, talent, and skills,” says Renāte Grundštoka, representative of the association “Tavi draugi”.

All interested parties are invited to register for the Volunteer Open Doors Day by filling in the form here. The Open Doors Days at “Tavi draugi” will continue until the end of the year, with more information about the events available on the association’s social media accounts and website.

Media representatives are welcome to attend the Volunteer Open Doors Day in person, confirming participation by September 26 via email at [email protected] or by phone at +371 29337759.

In parallel with the Volunteer Open Doors Day events, within the project “Close in Heart and Everyday Life”, a support course is being implemented for Ukrainian mothers in Latvia raising children with developmental disabilities. Activities are also held for children to develop skills and socialize. In addition, informational support is provided to Ukrainian civilians both in person and remotely.

The events are financially supported by the Society Integration Foundation from the allocated funds of the Latvian state budget.
