Charity Organization “Tavi draugi” Support and Donation Collection Point to Operate in Skanste Starting in July

Starting July 1, the support and donation collection point of the charity organization Tavi draugi, along with its logistics base and other departments, will move from its current location in Pārdaugava (50 Ventspils Street) to a new address in the Skanste district at 23 Lapeņu Street.

This change in location will not affect the mission of Tavi draugi or the scope and direction of support provided to residents of Ukraine and Latvia. The new site at 23 Lapeņu Street will house a support center for Ukrainians and Latvians, a logistics base, warehouse, the organization’s office, a design production line, and will host creative workshops, rehearsals for the Latvian-Ukrainian choir, and camouflage net weaving workshops.

Donation collection at 23 Lapeņu Street will begin on July 1 and will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Support services and distribution of humanitarian aid for Latvians and Ukrainians will resume on July 5, by prior appointment. Donation collection at the old location at 50 Ventspils Street has been discontinued.

As Tavi draugi continues its work at the new location, the organization encourages individuals and businesses to support Ukrainian civilians and soldiers, as well as local people in need in Latvia. Currently needed donations include instant food, canned goods, sweets, nuts, energy drinks and bars, hygiene products (especially wet wipes, shaving supplies, insect repellents, antifungal creams), and medications (pain relievers, anti-inflammatory, cold medicines). Also needed are men’s T-shirts, socks, and underwear for soldiers on the front lines and in military hospitals.

In addition to these changes, the Tavi draugi charity shop at 32 Ģertrūdes Street in Riga will continue to operate. The shop offers clothing, footwear, and accessories for adults and children, as well as books, dishes, and accepts small material donations.
