On Tuesday, 16 December at 19:00, a special screening of Ukrainian director Anton Ptushkin\u2019s documentary film <\/b>\u201cAntarctica\u201d<\/i><\/b> will take place in the PEPSI Hall of the \u201cForum Cinemas\u201d movie theatre in Riga. The event is part of the film\u2019s global charity tour, and all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to support Ukraine\u2019s air defense.<\/b><\/p>\n

Anton Ptushkin is embarking on a special charity tour with his new travel documentary <\/span>\u201cAntarctica\u201d<\/span><\/i>, which tells the story of Ukrainian polar scientists working at the remote Vernadsky Research Base. This documentary journey invites viewers to join Anton aboard the icebreaker <\/span>Noosphere<\/span><\/i>, cross the notorious Drake Passage, and experience the grandeur of glaciers and the charm of penguins on the big screen. The audience will learn why researchers spend an entire year in isolation, what scientific tasks they carry out, and why they need a crossbow.<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the evening, guests will have the chance to hear exclusive behind-the-scenes stories, take part in a Q&A session with Anton, participate in a charity auction, and purchase truly unique artifacts from Antarctica, as well as signed posters, photographs, Anton Ptushkin\u2019s book, and other items.<\/span><\/p>\n

The film will be shown in Ukrainian with Latvian subtitles. The event is planned to last three hours.
