The charity organization \u201cTavi draugi\u201d invites you to an evening with writer J\u0101nis Jo\u0146evs on October 16 at 6:30 p.m. The event will take place at the charity\u2019s store, \u0122ertr\u016bdes iela 32, Riga, with free admission.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cTavi draugi\u201d has launched a new tradition \u2014 author evenings, introducing writers of various genres and their creative work. The proceeds from book sales will be directed to charity projects supporting the people of Ukraine and Latvia.<\/p>\n

During the event, J\u0101nis Jo\u0146evs will share stories about his experiences in literature, theatre, and film, and offer a glimpse into his upcoming books. He will talk about his journey from working at an advertising agency to publishing his debut novel \u201cJelgava 94\u201d, as well as his later explorations into the detective genre and other new creative territories. The author will also share his experience of four years of volunteer work supporting Ukraine.
\nThe event will be moderated by Laura \u010caupale, director and representative of the \u201cTavi draugi\u201d association.<\/p>\n

The first visitors will have the opportunity to receive J\u0101nis Jo\u0146evs\u2019 books \u201cPazudis\u201d (published by Neputns) and \u201cDecembris\u201d (published by Satori) in exchange for a donation.<\/p>\n

The series of author evenings will continue with writer Elizabete Luk\u0161o-Ra\u017einska on November 13 this year.<\/p>\n

The \u201cTavi draugi\u201d charity store serves as a platform for converting material donations into financial support to aid various charity projects for war-affected Ukrainians and Latvians in crisis situations. The store offers clothing, footwear, and accessories for adults and children, dishes, books, interior items, artworks, and souvenirs from Latvia and Ukraine. It also regularly hosts educational and themed events to raise donations and strengthen the community.<\/p>\n
